BUT! Now I feel like I am slowly crawling out of my pit of self-doubt and slowly toeing my way back into the real world. Things I'm making and writing are showing glimmers of my old happiness that snail mail brought me. So here I am, back again updating this blog!
During one of the good days of my month long rut, I had a chance to show my best friend, Ohwa and her cousin around my favorite parts of Chicago. We only had one day to travel around, so I showed them around the Wicker Park neighborhood.
There was some really cool street art
And here's a photo of me around the streets of Wicker Park
Another cool little entrance that was covered in graffiti
The last time Ohwa came to visit me in Chicago, we took a cute photo where we held hands and swung our arms while we crossed a street. We replicated another version of that photo for this chicago exploration and it also came out equally cute.
Messing around in Reckless Records
Ohwa and Issac being cool and cute
During that adventure with Ohwa and Issac, I picked up a couple things too.
I picked up a flyer that had a cool illustration at Quimby's. A flyer for the Chicago Zine Fest (that I ended up going to!), a temporary tattoo of the Quimby logo, a funny gum packet, a cute cartoon about a cute turtle, and ticket stub from taking the Metra.
Here's a closer look at the cute cartoon called "Turtie Needs Work" by Steve Wolfhard. (After a quick google search, turns out he also draws the storyboards for the show Adventure Time! Cool! or should I say, Mathematical!)
Anyway, I will be updating with future post that showcase the snail mail that I received through my month long hiatus!
